Topological Effects on Cyclic Co‐Poly(ionic liquid)s Self‐Assembly

Topological geometry of poly(ionic liquid)s (PILs), such as brush-like, knot-like, hyperbranched and randomly coiled, often exerts a strong influence on their self-assembly behaviors. As primary topological form, the cyclic topology-derived effects have not been investigated PILs, which concerns synergy charges zero chain end. Herein, linear liquid) copolymers (co-PILs) with distributed counter anions B(Ph)4− Br− by template method in combination follow-up partial anion exchange is prepared. The phenomena co-PILs are studied selective solvents, where hydrophobic hydrophilic aggregated to form cores corona assembled nanospheres, showing average size nanospheres 46.2% smaller (≈120 nm) than nano-assemblies (≈176 nm). Based CGMD simulations, authors speculate that spherical aggregates formed transitioning from micelles gradient block-like structures, enriched core corona. These results indicate novel topology dynamic movements, revealed co-PIL this work.
